The Central Square Art Park at the corner of High and Lewis Streets was completed in September 2016. The plan was for a place to gather and host small music and entertainment events as part of a hub of activity Downtown. By spring of 2017 it became clear that the sun is hot and bright on the concrete and the lack of shade makes the space virtually unusable all day when it is sunny. A search for a shade solution led to the discovery of colorful umbrellas installed overhead in a town in Portugal and a passageway in Paris and next in Auburn!
That brings us to today – to get over the finish line and get the frame installed we need your help. The Downtown Business Association has advanced a contribution to get the project installed for this summer. You can help with an “Umbrella Sponsorship” for $100 made out to the DBA. Sponsor as many umbrellas as you want as an individual, a business or both and you will get special recognition at our reveal party (date TBD), on social media and your name will go on a permanent sign installed at the Park. Thank you! For multiple sponsorships a little umbrella will be placed next to your name on the sign for each one!
