Twas eight weeks before Christmas and all through the town everyone was busy and scurrying around making preparations for fun and good cheer because soon Santa Claus would be here.
While the children in their costumes would soon roam the streets looking for goblins and sweet tasting treats, the downtown businesses were planning ahead for the town Christmas tree lighting, the light parade and a Downtown Christmas Festival with the man dressed in red.
“A festival” you ask, “is this something new?” The answer is, why yes and we are inviting you.
There will be carolers and vendors with wares to display and the downtown stores will be open for shopping on this special day. There will be good food to eat and fun to partake and rumor has it, the Grinch may be roaming the street.
So mark down these dates and don’t delay as Christmas is quickly heading our way.
The tree lighting is a party in the downtown square on November 29th and maybe, just maybe Santa will be there.
On December 6th the Parade of Lights rolls through town. There is music and lights and sights to astound. Santa, yes Santa will again be in town on the porch of the Promenade is where he can be found. You can tell him your wishes and have your picture taken for a small fee on Dec. 13, 20 and 21 from 11am – 3pm.
On Sunday the 14th Santa 12 – 4pm will again be in place bringing a smile to each child’s face. This is the day of the Festival downtown from 12 – 4 the jolly old elf will be around.
So great times ahead, you are sure to remember, the exciting events in Downtown Auburn the month of December.
